In 2024, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 5.5 percent year on year to 1,950,163 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

Last year, new EU truck registrations recorded a decrease of 6.3 percent year on year to 327,896 units. This drop was driven by an 8.5 percent downturn in heavy truck sales. Bus sales, on the other hand, rose by 9.2 percent year on year, totaling 35,579 units.

Among the four major markets, Germany (-6.9%), France (-2.9%), and Italy (-0.7%) experienced declines in truck registrations, while Spain recorded a notable 12 percent increase.
