August results for the ICEI index, measuring the level of confidence among industrial entrepreneurs, have shown an increase from July to August, following two months of decline, reaching the level of 51.7 points, above the level of 50.0 points that divides scenarios from pessimism to optimism.
According to the sector association, CNI, which issues the index, the recovery of the index in August reflects all index components.
The index for the current conditions of the company increased by 2.6 points, reaching a level that shows optimism in relation to the last six months for the first time since January 2024.
The evaluation of the current conditions of the Brazilian economy has also increased, but remained under the 50.0 points level, an indication of a persistent negative evaluation.
The evaluation of the expectations has also improved, increasing by one percentage point to 53.9 points in the optimism area.
According to CNI, the analysis of the research shows that the industrial entrepreneurs are optimistic with their own companies but remain pessimistic with the country’s economy.
