Argentina produced 51,650 units (cars and light commercial vehicles) in August which was 16.5 percent more than in July.
Under a comparative basis, exports increased by 15.6 percent to 32,754 units and domestic sales increased by 17.1 percent to 38,682 units.
On annual basis, comparing August 2024 to August 2023, the production declined by 18.6 percent, exports increased by 13.5 percent and domestic sales increased by 27.7 percent.
When comparing the first eight months of 2024 and 2023, the production declined by 23.4 percent to 312,888 units, exports declined by 10.3 percent to 187,923 units, and domestic sales declined by 12.8 percent to 233,711 units.
Martin Zuppi, president of ADEFA, said in a statement that an upward trend is consolidated for the sector, as over the last three months the main variables, production, exports and domestic sales have consistently increased.
He added that the main highlight of the period is the level of exports, which is showing an increasing participation in the total production, returning to the sustainability of the business model historically focused on exports.
