Tonghua Steel achieves output targets for Q1

Jilin Province-based Chinese steel producer Tonghua Iron and Steel Group (Tonghua Steel), a subsidiary of Beijing-based Shougang Group, has announced that it produced 525,874 mt of crude steel and 288,699 mt of hot rolled coil and sheet in the first quarter of the current year at its rolled steel plant, respectively equivalent to 104.94 percent and 108.39 percent of the targeted outputs.

In the current year up to March 25, Tonghua Steel produced 149,427 mt of finished steel products at its continuous casting beam plant.

In the first three months of the current year, Tonghua Steel produced 79,009 mt of wire rod at the old production line in its high-speed wire rod plant, 2,360 mt over the targeted output, while it produced 149,772 mt of wire rod at the new production line, exceeding the targeted output by 2,772 mt.
