Ukraine issues export data for January-April

In January-April of the current year, Ukrainian metallurgical companies increased their exports by 4.5 percent compared to the same period of last year, to 8.356 million mt.

In particular, according to the data for the first four months of 2011, Ukrainian exports of semi-finished steel products increased by 0.9 percent to 3.733 million mt, its exports of flat rolled steel increased by 18 percent to 2.686 million mt, and its exports of long steel dropped by 4.1 percent to 1.937 million mt, all compared to the corresponding period of 2010.


On the other hand, in the given period Ukraine's ferroalloy exports decreased by 20.8 percent and its scrap exports declined by 47 percent year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 341,000 and 115,600.


In January-April  this year, Ukrainian exports of pig iron decreased by 1.6 percent to 529,000 mt.
