Turkey’s ship scrap market continues its downtrend

Two Turkish producers have cut their ship scrap purchase prices by $5-10/mt as compared to the levels reported on August 16. The general price range for ship scrap now stands at $365-375/mt as compared to the previous levels of $370-380/mt. The reason of the latest downward revision is the negative sentiment in Turkey’s scrap markets, both import and domestic.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
