Turkey’s ship scrap market follows increases seen in deep sea segment

As anticipated by SteelOrbis earlier this month, ship scrap prices in Turkey are following the increases already seen in deep sea scrap prices and have moved up on the upper end as some producers in Izmir are focusing on ship scrap purchases instead of deep sea scrap. The general price range is now $11-20/mt higher on the upper end at $365-390/mt. Since the uptrend of deep sea scrap has stalled with the market mood changing, the lower end of the ship scrap market may increase, but the upper end is expected to remain stable for now.
