Turkey’s ship scrap market increases again

As anticipated by SteelOrbis earlier this month, ship scrap prices in Turkey have moved up on the lower end and remained stable on the upper end over the past week. The general price range is now $10/mt higher on the lower end and stands at $375-390/mt. While Izmir-based producers are managing their scrap inventories, the current silence in the deep sea scrap segment will have an impact on their scrap purchase prices. The lack of deep sea deals may provide some room for further upward movement in ship scrap prices.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Habaş

390

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
