Turkey’s ship scrap market remains stable, one mill cuts its price

While one Turkish producer has cuts its ship scrap purchase price, but the general price range has remained stable. The cut was $5/mt as compared to the level reported on August 19. The general purchase price range for ship scrap in Turkey still stands at $365-375/mt, with Çebitaş representing the upper end. Turkey’s ship scrap market may still move down further due to the ongoing declines recorded in the import scrap segment.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
