The National Auto Parts Industry (INA), the fourth largest in the world, announced that the value of production from January to September totaled $93.1 billion, 3.2 percent or $2.9 billion more than the same period last year.

Although the INA did not provide comparative data, in September the production value broke the $10 billion monthly floor for the fourth time. Since March 2023 (19 months ago) that value has been exceeded monthly.

Without annual comparative data, the INA reported that auto parts exports totaled $78.9 billion, of which the United States received 87.2 percent.

Mexico imported auto parts for $52.5 billion, of which 52.0 percent was purchased in the United States and 14.0 percent from China. The trade balance was a surplus for Mexico of $26.4 billion.

According to the INA, the estimated value of production for 2024 is $124.5 billion and for 2025, $127.5 billion.
