Nissan Mexico produces Kicks model to export to 77 countries

The unit in Mexico of Nissan Motor Corporation announced that it has started production of its Kicks model, which will be exported to 77 countries from its plant located in the central Mexican state of Aguascaliente, informing the local government in a statement.

“This morning we start manufacturing a new model that will be exported to more than 77 countries, it will give Aguascalientes a lot of power with more than a million vehicles in the coming years”, says Joan Busquets, vice president of manufacturing Nissan Mexico, to governor María Teresa Jiménez, according to the local government press release.

“The concrete production line is an investment of $700 million,” Busquets reported.

It was also reported that the Nissan engine plant in Aguascalientes, in 2023, manufactured its 16 million engine.

Nissan in Mexico is the second largest vehicle producer in Mexico. In the first five months of the year it manufactured around 280,000 units, a volume that represented 16.7 percent of the 1.65 million units produced by the 13 vehicle manufacturing companies installed in the country.

The leader in production is General Motors with 19.3 percent of the total with more than 361,200 vehicles manufactured in Mexico.
